President Abdul Fattah Al-Sisi is due to meet with Ethiopian Prime Minister Hailemariam Desalegn on the sidelines of the United Nations meetings after two weeks, said Spokesman for the Foreign Ministry Ambassador Badr Abdul Atti said in a televised statement.
He said that Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry discussed with the Ethiopian premier the Renaissance Dam crisis as well as the ties binding the two countries during his recent visit to Addis Ababa.
He added that Shoukry carried a message from President Al-Sisi to the Ethiopian top official urging him to press ahead with the joint cooperation and work in a way that maintains the interests of both sides in all fields including the Renaissance Dam.
He went on to say that the joint ministerial committee chaired by the foreign ministers of both countries will be activated soon.
